GREATEST HIGHLIGHT OF ALL TIME

This is my favorite highlight of all time. Don't ever change, Swaggy P.

Tears for Gronk

In all honesty, I have no problem with the hit on Gronk. This is the reality of the NFL of today. Players aren't allowed to hit high so they have no other choice but to dive at knees. What else are they supposed to do? Gronk is 6 foot 6 and 265 pounds. TJ Ward is 5 foot 10 and 200 pounds. If he can't hit Gronk high, how else is he supposed to take him down? It just sucks because you know a lot of these players would rather get hit high and take the risk of a concussion and miss a game or two than get hit low and tear an ACL thus ending their season.

This hit is uncomfortable to watch. These vicious hits, both high and low, happen on a weekly basis in almost every game. Seeing players get hit so hard that they get knocked out and lie on the ground without moving for 30 seconds or seeing players shred their knees and break bones is simply uncomfortable to watch. As a kid, watching the big hits was cool, but now, as I get older, I am having a harder and harder time seeing these guys get knocked out or severely injured. I used to think that the people who said football is following a similar path to boxing were crazy, but the more I watch and see these vicious hits, the more I am coming to accept that the future of football is uncertain. Football is a violent sport. As our society progresses, there seems to be, at least in my eyes, less excitement and interest towards this violence. In the future, fans may begin to shift away from the violent game of football towards basketball and the NBA, which lacks the violence but still has the entertainment and also has a unique player-fan relationship because fans can see the players' faces and bodies on a level that does not exist in the NFL where players are covered in pads. I am not sure what the future holds, but there is no denying the current state of the NFL is extremely violent--even with the rule changes that have been put in place to make the game "safer", the games are still filled with vicious collisions--and this continued violence has had a negative effect on my interest in the league.

Is TJ Ward Still Alive?

This death stare says it all. There is a 100% chance that Belichick had TJ Ward "taken care of" last night, right? Has anyone checked on TJ today? Has he been accounted for?

Poor Cleveland

Weeden the redhead QB. The oldest rookie of them all, indeed. Poor Cleveland.

Knowshon Moreno Sheds a Tear...I Mean, River

Knowshon does it BIG. He doesn't just cry tears. Nope. He cries rivers.

PS. This is sneakily the best celebration of all time.

Classic Tom

Seems pretty happy.

Gerald Henderson Pass Kills Fan (not really but kinda really)

This video is hilarious. Gerald Henderson airmails a pass into the stands only to crush a lady right in the face. This lady went down like a ton of bricks. Wooops!

The Best Post-Ejection Reaction of All Time

This probably won't ever be topped. #DoubleBirdSalute

This Oregon St Bro Gets It

This kid is a boss. Not only does he warm up shirtless, but he also rocks an arm sleeve, shades, a full man-beard, and perfectly sculpted chest hair in the shape of a goal post. If I had a Heisman vote this kid would get it.

UMASS Kid Flys

Must be nice to fly.

This UMASS bro elevated over that defender -- to say the least. Poor defender just trying to stand tall but ends up with a face full of balls. Although you have to hand it to the defender here. Standing tall while a giant man flys toward you isn't something I would do with 20 seconds left in a game where my team was down 14.

PS. UMASS REPRESENT

SICK Catch by UCF Bro

This catch is DOPE.

Go try to do this in your backyard. Catch a 40 yard pass with 1 fully outstretched hand and arm all while diving forward at the end of a 40 yard sprint. Yeah, probably not gonna happen.

Well done, bro.

LSU Bro Wins the Weekend

Classic. The old T-Rex celebration dance. Can't beat this. This bro wins the weekend.

PS- Must suck to be the fist-pumping kid next to this bro. Just getting completely dominated by the T-Rex next to you.

Nick Foles Throws 7 Touchdowns.... UMMM, WHAT!?

So, Nick Foles threw 7 touchdowns yesterday. Yes, Nick Foles. That guy in the picture above. THAT GUY. 7 touchdowns. 7!!! Perplexing is an understatement. But, hey, you keep doin you, Nick.

Nick Foles FTW.

PATS WIN

Pats 55 over Steelers 31

Pats win! The Pats offense finally looked like, well, a real NFL offense. Brady and his receivers were clicking, FINALLY. It was nice to see Tom completing passes longer than 5 yards, Dobson actually holding on to passes that hit his hands, and Gronk spiking balls into the stratosphere again. I am not sure if this improved offensive performance was a result of the offensive unit finally starting to mesh, or if it was because the Steelers are truly awful. Or, maybe, and more likely, it was a combination of both.

While the offense looked good and a win is a plus any day, the Pats defense is still a major concern. Of course when you are missing the best defensive player at every level of your defense (Wilfork upfront, Mayo in the middle, and Talib in the back) you will likely struggle, but this cast of characters made the Steelers offense, particularly their rushing attack, look pretty awesome during stretches of the game. The Steelers might be the worst team in the NFL right now, but their offense looked pretty good against the patched-together Patriots defense.

It's nice to see the Patriots offense finally start rolling again, but this defense really worries me. Lets hope the Pats offense can continue to mesh enough to cover the holes on defense that have been left from losing 2 pro-bowlers for the season and having another perennially injured.

RED SOX WIN

Blood, Sweat, and Beards, BABY! Blood, Sweat, and Beards. World Series Champs! I love this team and I love this town.

How much must it suck to not be from or live in Boston? This city has celebrated 8 Championships since 2000. If my math is correct, THAT IS 8 PARADES! 8! Unbelievable. Titletown USA indeed.

Once again, CUE THE DUCKBOATS!

PS. Skinny John Lackey was lights out. I will never say a bad word about that guy again.

PPS. Hey, Bobby V, tell me how my ass taste.

Red Sox in 6 to Win the World Series

Tonight the Red Sox win the World Series. SOX IN 6. First time clinching at Fenway since 1918. Fear the beard, St. Louis. .

PS. I wonder if all those St. Louis fans who claim to be the most classy, respectable fans in sports will be applauding the Sox tonight out of respect for the beating that the Sox put on their team.

CUE THE DUCKBOATS!

Cockiest Move Ever

Is this the cockiest move ever? Golden Tate just waving goodbye to the defender. Hi Haters.

Some Week 3 Thoughts

New England 23 over Tampa Bay 3

Another win for the Pats who are now 3-0. Might be the worst 3-0 team of all time. The Pats have now beat the Bills, Jets, and Buccaneers. Not exactly the cream of the crop in the NFL. BUT, the Patriots have been able to win with an offense throwing passes to quite possibly the worst receiving group of all time. With Gronk getting closer and closer to coming back, this offense will only get better. Lets just hope he stays healthy and spikes footballs all season.

As for the Buccaneers, well, this train is derailing. 3 points against the Patriots defense? 3?! You're not playing the Seahawks here, this is the Patriots defense. The Schiano/Freemen combo is not going to be around much longer.

Indianapolis 27 over San Francisco 7

Good for Andrew Luck taking down his old coach. But, what is going on in San Francisco? Where is the defense and running attack from last season? I am sure Harbaugh will figure this out, but if I was a 49ers fan I would be getting a little worried about my team.

Also, how about the 49ers choosing to send Aldon Smith to get help AFTER the game yesterday. Oh, yeah, we are really concerned about getting Aldon help, but lets make sure we let him play first before we do anything.

Cleveland 31 over Minnesota 27

Wasn't Cleveland trying to lose this game? What happened here?

Baltimore 30 over Houston 9

This game was a snoozefest. These two teams are boring and this game was boring.

Carolina 38 over New York Giants 0

What is going on with the Giants? 90 yards passing and 60 yards rushing. This team looks awful. Coughlin is definitely not happy.

Detroit 27 over Washington 20

Lions win. This happens.

Dallas 31 over St. Louis 7

Last week I said, "Hand the ball of to DeMarco Murray more!" Apparently the Cowboys were listening. Look what happens when you run the ball, Dallas!

Cincinnati 34 over Green Bay 30

Ouch, Green Bay!

New York Jets 27 over Buffalo 20

The Jets had 20 penalties for 168 yards. They won the game. Yikes!

Chicago 40 over Pittsburgh 23

Not looking great for the Pittsburgh Steelers these days.

Seattle 45 over Jacksonville 17

Are we sure the Jacksonville Jaguars are a real NFL team?

Tennessee 20 over San Diego 17

This happened.

Poor Cleveland

In case you live under a rock, the Cleveland Browns traded Trent Richardson last night. Yes, the Trent Richardson that they drafted with their 3rd pick in 2012. I don't hate the move for Cleveland--they got a first round pick in return for a running back and will now have 2 first round picks in the draft next year. Running backs don't win Superbowls in today's NFL. But, this move trades away the only thing exciting about the Brown's offense.

Oh, and with Brandon Weeden out, Cleveland will be starting Brian Hoyer instead of Jason Campbell. Tanking much?!

Also, Brandon Weeden will be turning 30 this October. He was drafted in 2012. GREAT PICK MIKE HOLMEGREN! It is hard not to feel bad for Cleveland Brown fans.

Some Week 2 Thoughts

Houston 30 over Tennessee 24

I really wish I didn't pick the Texans to be the AFC representative in the Superbowl.

Baltimore 14 over Cleveland 6

I thought Cleveland was going to be a sleeper this season. Guess not! Weeden is awful. Also, why is the Browns logo an orange helmet? Doesn't make any sense.

As far as Baltimore, it would have been nice for Flacco to take a little less money so the team could actually fill out the rest of its roster. Enjoy throwing to Brandon Stokley and Dallas Clark all season! Also, for the sake of my fantasy team, I really hope Ray Rice's hip flexor is ok. Thanks for the 1 point though, bro!

San Diego 33 over Philadelphia 30

Um, WTF Chip?!? Philly's defense is BAD. Real bad. Maybe it's time to stop running Rocky and Elvis and change things up a little.

Also, really going to miss being able to pick against Norv Turner every week. San Diego might not actually be that bad this year. Shocking.

Kansas City 17 over Dallas 16

Chiefs in the house. YEAH YEAH. Chiefs are good and are going to be a playoff team this year. Good for you, Andy Reid.

Hey Dallas, hand the ball off to DeMarco Murray more! 12 carries?!? COME ON! Also, Dez Bryant is an absolute beast.

Miami 24 over Indianapolis 20

Miami might actually be pretty good this season.

Green Bay 38 over Washington 20

Aaron Rodgers could have thrown for 600 yards yesterday. The best part is that I am not even exaggerating. He finished the first half with 335 yards and 3 touchdowns! He ended up throwing for 480 yards. The Packers had a big lead for the majority of the 2nd half so there was little pressure on the Packers to throw. This number could have been much larger.

The Redskins are not good. Last week they made the Eagles look like the greatest offensive team to ever play football. Please note that the Eagles lost to the Chargers this week. Yes, the Chargers. The Redskins follow up their awful week 1 performance by giving up 480 yards passing. Yikes! I'm not sure what is going on with that defense, but whatever it is isn't working.

Also, Brandon Meriweather needs to be permanently removed from the NFL.

Chicago 31 over Minnesota 30

Cutler leads game winning drive.

Buffalo 24 over Carolina 23

Good work Cam! Spend less time practicing your superman dance and more time trying to win games.

EJ Manuel might be pretty good too.

New Orleans 16 over Tampa Bay 14

Bye bye Greg Schiano. Tampa is a mess right now. I'm not sure Schiano and/or Josh Freeman make it past their week 5 bye.

Arizona 25 over Detroit 21

This picture of Megatron in Patrick Peterson's visor is sick.

Oakland 19 over Jacksonville 9

This game was so bad that a TV station in Orlando apologized for showing it. I think that about sums it up.

Denver 41 over New York Giants 23

Noodle arm wins again. If only the Patriots had someone like Wes Welker to throw to. Oh, wait! Nah, I am sure Brady is fine throwing to wide receivers that have trouble catching passes.

Seattle 29 over San Francisco 3

Seattle looks awesome. These teams are both REALLY good, but Seattle playing at home is going to be tough for any team to beat. These two teams are at the top of the class in the NFC.

Do The 2013 Patriots Suck?

After last night's ugly 13-10 win over the Geno Smith led Jets, it's starting to appear that the Patriots might suck. The offense looked awful. Because of injuries, Tom Brady was throwing passes to a college qb and an undrafted rookie free agent. Watching the patched-together Patriots wide receiving corps drop passes all night was frustrating, to say the least. It is starting to make sense why Kenbrell Thompkins lasted 7 rounds of the NFL draft without hearing his name called. HE CAN'T CATCH! I am no expert, but being able to catch seems like a pretty important attribute for a wide receiver. At one point I was expecting Brady to come out from halftime covered in blood from stabbing Dobson because of all his drops. Brady wasn't clicking with these guys and he didn't hide his frustration.

It is going to get better when Gronk and Amendola come back, but these guys are perennial injury risks. The one concern with Amendola this offseason was his health and he has already found a way to miss a game. ITS BEEN TWO WEEKS, DANNY! Saying I am concerned would be an understatement.

In terms of the defense, yes they forced some turnovers. However, forcing turnovers against Geno Smith, a rookie qb in his 2nd career start, is nothing to get too excited about. It was nice to see the team actually show some resemblance of a pass rush during moments of the game. Chandler Jones' two sacks were definitely exciting. But, it will be interesting to see how this defense holds up against a good/decent offense. The Jets might have the fewest offensive weapons in the league, a competent defense should be able to shut them down.

I know a win is a win and the Patriots are 2-0, but I am concerned. This is a different team. A less exciting, less good team. Belichick is known for building/progressing his teams through the season. This team is going to click much better week 17 than it did last night because of Belichick's coaching. I am sure they will win the awful AFC East, but is this team really going to compete for a Superbowl? I am not so sure.

Vereen Broken Wrist = More Ridley

@JayGlazer: Big hit for patriots, RB Shane Vereen broke a small bone in his wrist on 1st play yesterday, scheduled for surgery today. Out few weeks.

Amazing! Shane Vereen had a broken wrist and still managed to fumble less than Ridley!

Vareen looked awesome yesterday. One of the only bright spots in an overall gloomy win for the Patriots. It is too bad he will miss the next few weeks. Lets hope Ridley and his two non-broken wrists will hold onto the ball this week.

Cheap Shot City

Talk about a late hit. Kap was a solid 3 yards out of bounds only to have a flying Clay Mathews, pretending to be superman, diving at his neck. If this was Ndamukong Suh instead of Clay Mathews there would be outrage and everyone would be talking about suspending Suh for multiple games. But, since it was Mathews, no one is really talking about it. Seems hypocritical to me.

PS- Clay Mathews went on the radio before this game and talked about how him and the Packers were going to focus on hitting Kaepernick. Once again, imagine if Suh said that before the game and then went out and hit Kap 5 yards out of bounds. Refs probably would have ejected Suh from the game. Hypocritical.
